Estate Planning

Legacy Architecture

Protect the Core. Prepare the Future.

For many families, a true legacy is not just measured in financial assets — it is reflected in clarity, continuity, and shared values across generations. At ERX, we view estate planning as part of a broader design: how values are passed on, how transitions are managed, and how outcomes align with a family’s vision.

Why Strategy Comes First

In our experience, challenges in legacy planning often arise not from lack of intention, but from fragmented execution and insufficient coordination between advisors and generations. That is why we work alongside clients’ estate attorneys, tax professionals, and other trusted advisors to help align financial structures, governance, liquidity planning, and family objectives.

How We Support the Process

  • Legacy & Wealth Transfer Planning – Helping coordinate strategies to reduce friction, preserve intent, and support continuity of family vision and resources.

  • Trust & Entity Planning – Working with your legal team to help align ownership and control across trusts, partnerships, and multi-generational structures.

  • Intergenerational Stewardship – Facilitating conversations, education, and engagement to prepare heirs to take on leadership and decision-making roles.

Our role is not to replace your legal or tax counsel, but to integrate wealth management strategy with the broader estate framework they create — so that financial, personal, and generational priorities are addressed in a cohesive way.

We are committed to ensuring consistent stewardship across generations.

Ethical Wills

A Love Letter to Future Generations...

Ethical Wills

We Believe in the Power of Ethical Wills

Throughout life, we make choices, face challenges, and experience moments that shape who we are. Many people wish to share with loved ones the values, lessons, and experiences that have defined them. An Ethical Will — sometimes called a Love Letter — offers a meaningful way to do just that.

An Ethical Will is not a legal document. It does not replace instruments such as a last will and testament or living will. Instead, it serves as a personal record — a heartfelt message of love, gratitude, and wisdom for those who matter most.

A Personal Gift of Values and Memories

The tradition of leaving Ethical Wills dates back centuries and spans many cultures. Whether in letter form, audio or video recording, scrapbook, or other creative medium, the focus is on content — the stories, principles, and insights you want to pass on.

You might choose to share:

  • Life lessons from challenges you’ve faced and overcome

  • Core priorities and guiding principles

  • Family traditions, recipes, or histories that should be preserved

  • Words of encouragement, blessings, or advice for the future

  • Expressions of appreciation for each loved one’s role in your life

Some families create Ethical Wills to open conversations while the author is still living. Others use them to offer personal context to decisions in a legal will or simply to capture a life’s meaning in a way that documents alone cannot.

There is no “right” format — only the intention to leave something heartfelt, enduring, and uniquely yours.

Below is a book that may assist in this personal process.
